Cake phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

You tin can block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your device. You can too filter iMessages from unknown senders and report iMessages that look like spam or junk.

Cake a phone number, contact, or electronic mail

There are a few means that you tin can block telephone numbers, contacts, and emails.

Phone

From the Phone app, tap Recents, and then tap the Info buttonInfo button next to the telephone number or contact that yous desire to block. Gyre down, then tap Block this Caller.

FaceTime

From the FaceTime app, tap the Info buttonInfo button next to the telephone number, contact, or email address that y'all want to block. Scroll down, then tap Block this Caller.

Messages

From the Messages app, open up the conversation, tap the contact at the top of the chat. Tap the infoblue info button with person icon inside push button, scroll down, then tap Block this Caller.

Mail

From the Post app, open up the e-mail that has the contact that you desire to block, and so tap the contact at the top. Tap Block this Contact.

When you block a phone number or contact, they can still leave a voicemail, just you won't become a notification. Letters that are sent or received won't be delivered. Also, the contact won't get a notification that the call or message was blocked. When you cake an e-mail accost from Mail, information technology goes to the trash binder. Email blocking works beyond all your Apple devices.

Y'all tin can also enable settings to block spam telephone calls.

Manage your blocked phone numbers, contacts, and emails

To see the phone numbers, contacts, and email addresses that y'all've blocked from Telephone, FaceTime, Messages, or Post:

Phone

Go to Settings > Telephone and tap Blocked Contacts to see the list.

FaceTime

Go to Settings > FaceTime. Nether Calls, tap Blocked Contacts.

Messages

Go to Settings > Messages. Under SMS/MMS, tap Blocked Contacts.

Post

Get to Settings > Postal service. Nether Threading, tap Blocked.

Filter messages from unknown senders

You lot tin can filter messages from people who aren't saved in your Contacts.

To filter messages, get to Settings > Messages, scroll down and plough on Filter Unknown Senders.

In Letters, tap Filters, so tap Unknown Senders. Yous won't get notifications for these messages.

Report spam or junk in the Messages app

Yous can report iMessages that look similar spam or junk from the Messages app. If you get an iMessage from someone who's not saved in your Contacts, you'll run across a Written report Junk link under the message.

Tap Report Junk, then tap Delete and Report Junk. Messages will forward the sender's information and the message to Apple tree, equally well as delete the message from your device. You tin't disengage deleting a message.

Reporting junk doesn't block the sender from existence able to send another message. If you don't desire to receive these messages, yous need to block the contact.
